A.R.I. Gorizia Radio Club and his Award Manager Salvatore IV3YIM would like to thank everyone who took part to the 1st Great War Award II3GG.

It was a fantastic experience for us organizers, hoping it was the same for you who have been numerous on the air in the beginning of August 2008 and in October during the historical commemoration when we used II3GG call again.

These are the Award numbers:

3704 QSO from the 1st to 10th August 2008, 2911 in SSB mode, 450 CW and 343 digital RTTY-PSK31.

97 the total requested awards, 76 of them printed on parchment paper and 21 sent for free in PDF format via e-mail.

The lunch together with the prizegiving ceremony and the plate consign to the first classified will take place on 20th of June 2009 in the Parco Rurale Alture di Polazzo in the province of Gorizia. The choice to meet each other in this place has not be taken at random: the Parco Rurale is immersed in the Carso hills just in the places where lots of battles were fought during the first world war, to which this Award wants to inspire to. It has apartments and camping sites available for everyone who likes to stop for some days and take a visit to our places in the wonderful carsic setting, eating food and beverages exclusively from biological breedings and cultivations, as all the district is under environmental protection.

Another thanks goes to all of you who gave us their congratulations and sent us lots of information, pictures etc. related to the first war conflict, together with touching comments and memories from their fathers and grandfathers who knew these lands in an unhappy time, often not returning home.
