The
Great War (World War I) Award
On
the 90th anniversary of the Great War (World War I), the A.R.I. Radio
Club – section of Gorizia announces the first “The
Great War Award”.
Partecipation:
opened to every italian and foreign OM and SWL
Duration:
from the 1st to the 10th of August, 2008
Bands:
3,5 MHz (80 m), 7 MHz (40 m), 14 MHz (20 m) using the IARU
recommended segments
Modes:
SSB, CW, RTTY
Points:
the operators of A.R.I. Radio Club Section of Gorizia will place the
call: ‘CQ 1st Great War Award’,
exchanging RST report and the points gained. The Award’s
pertaining stations count 1 point. The A.R.I. Radio Club of Gorizia
call IQ3GO counts 3 points, the jolly station II3GG counts 5 points.
Every pertaining station can be contacted more than one time but not
more than one time per band and mode on the same day.
Requests:
to achieve the Award the following score must be reached:
Italian
stations: 30 points. SWLs follow the same rules of the italian
stations
European
stations: 20 points.
All
extra european stations: 15 points.
The
requests must be submitted to the Gorizia A.R.I. Radio Club before
the 30th of October, 2008, addressing them to the Award Manager:

The
Award must be requested to the Award Manager, at the organizing Club,
by sending a copy of the excerpt of the log via email to
awardmanager@arigorizia.org
or by postal evenlope, in an Excel, DBF, CBR or ADIF formatted file,
or in paper sheets too.
To
achieve the Award a contribution of 10 EUR or 15 USD is requested.
Note
that the Award print can be optionally obtained in electronic format
and received via email by explicitly specifying it in your request,
free of charge.
After
the end of the tournament, a single list will be published and the
first classified operator will receive a special plate.
